Sauced BBQ & Spirits is so happy to have the chance to bring real BBQ to Northern California. Their goal at Sauced is always to provide excellent food, creative cocktails and an unrivaled southern charm and atmosphere. They want each of their guests to become part of their extended family and to walk out of their doors with a memorable experience and a full stomach.

Brenden (cousin) and the owner (Barrett) have been dreaming of owning a restaurant since their early college years. Frankly, Brenden loved to cook, and the owner loved to eat; things never changed. They were both born in 1979, and while they grew up on the opposite side of the world, they remained loyal to each other. The owner was raised in Pleasanton, California, while Brenden was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Yes , that means he’s been to countless NASCAR races, and he certainly owned a pair of Wranglers at some point. At the beginning of the 30’s (still 2,500 miles apart), it was time to stop dreaming and turn their passion into reality. Several years later, that’s what they did. Sauced BBQ Spirits was born on April 22, 2012 in downtown Livermore, California.

Barrett bet at that moment, as long as you don’t fall asleep, you’re wondering how the barbecue came to be. Ok, a lot of years ago Brenden acquired a ceramic smoker, which he swears by, called the Big Green Egg (ask him about it, and he’ll probably have you buying one before you leave the restaurant). He fell in love with BBQ and spent years cooking and studying art and science in his backyard, eventually launching a BBQ team competition in the Atlanta area. The team scored well in a variety of categories, most notably the “Most Beer Drunk” category.

While Brenden mastered his BBQ recipes, he took it upon himself to spend thousands of hours in numerous bars and restaurants across the country drinking and learning the art of cocktails. They even made it to Kentucky to learn how to do research on Mint Julep and New Orleans. Anyway, it was exhausting, but it had to be done for the sake of the cause.

They just wanted to introduce the South to Northern California when they formed Sauced, so they basically did just that. Both the wood and the corrugated ceiling are rescued and transported from the barns in Georgia and North Carolina. Barrett was also shipped in by Brenden. They opened Sauced with the invaluable help of many families (their wives, mothers , fathers, sisters, uncles , aunts, cousins, children) and friends along the way. They hope the final product is one that you’ll want to experience again and again on every occasion.
