Whole Foods Market Inc. is an American international grocery chain with headquarters in Austin, Texas, offering items entirely free of hydrogenated fats and artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. A United States American certified organic retailer, the chain is popularly known for its organic offerings. As of March 4, 2019, Whole Foods has 500 stores in North America, and seven in the UK.

On 23 August 2017, it was announced that a merger between Amazon and Whole Foods Market had been approved by the Federal Trade Commission; the transaction was closed on 28 August 2017.

Whole Foods Market offers only items that follow its self-created “natural” quality requirements, which the store describes as minimally processed foods that are free of hydrogenated fats as well as artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives, and many others as described on their online “Unacceptable Food Ingredients” list. Whole Foods Market has also declared that it has no intention of selling meat or milk from cloned animals or their offspring, although the United States does. They are considered safe to eat by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The company also offers several USDA-certified organic foods and goods that tend to be environmentally friendly and ecologically conscious. As a result of active campaigns by animal rights organizations, supermarkets do not sell foie gras or eggs from hens confined to battery cages because of animal cruelty issues. The Whole Foods Market website outlines the conditions for the company to offer food, dietary supplements, and personal care products.

Even several varieties of bacon which are certified humane goods and raised eggs which are pastured. They have a bar/cafe in this venue which offers the option to get coffee or alcohol.
