4. The Chemical Reaction During Spray Tanning Is Not A Cause For Concern
The solution used for spray tanning is a chemical called dihydroxyacetone (DHA), and it reacts with the amino acids in the dead layer of skin cells to create a temporary tan.

The machine sprays out a fine mist containing dihydroxyacetone (DHA) mixed with other chemicals that are used to break down the DHA’s crystals into smaller components.
