Max Wolfe, owner and professional chef, opened Maximillian’s doors in downtown Walnut Creek in 1977. In 1995 he changed the name of the restaurant to Massimo Ristorante-giving it a modern look and a new menu.

The interior was remodeled to reflect a warm Italian-style ambience using light shaded woods, neoclassical columns and accented with a complementary palette of avocado, black and copper colors.

The menu changed from French to Modern Italian. And after 30 years, Max has successfully preserved his long-standing reputation for premium ingredients, outstanding cuisine and professional service. 

Career highlights: Rainbow Room and Rainbow Grill in New York City, Four Seasons Restaurant in New York City and successfully managed restaurants in Hilton Head Island , South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia in the 1970s.

Massimo has two Private Banquet Rooms and a Main Restaurant Dining Room available for company meetings, private events, anniversaries, wedding rehearsals and wedding receptions. Upstairs banquet room has a maximum of 50 seats.

The downstairs banquet room has 35 seats. And the main dining room restaurant has a maximum capacity of 100 people. The full lounge bar and Grand Piano are adjacent to the main dining room. We also have an outdoor patio with heaters that can hold up to 30 people. Massimo has New Italian Cuisine.They can customize and customize your menu to meet your specific needs and budget. A broad list of wines is available along with a full bar.

After 40 years of business in downtown Walnut Creek, Massimos never disappoints. From delicious food to great service, it’s always a wonderful dining experience. People are a huge fan of a boneless duck breast with a risotto of mushrooms. It’s still well seasoned and baked. The Porcini and the black truffle ravioli are delicious, and so is the grilled hanger steak.
