How Long Does A Spray Tan Last For?
You can expect a spray tan to last between 7 and 10 days. But your skin routine before and after treatment can either prolong or reduce the life of your bronzed look. The Pre-tan prep and post-tan maintenance is the most powerful way to shorten or, more importantly, prolong the average life of a sunless tan, Claghorn said.
Maybe you’re not going to a salon to get a spray tan or book a beautician soon to go to your place, when all this is over and we ‘re back to business you could go for a spray tan, then these tips will be helpful to last longer.
Tips:
- Don’t use self-tanner. It’s not easy to be pasty, particularly when you are used to a bronzed tan, but resist the attempt to use self-tanner and even tinted moisturizing agents. These products can make your spray tan look uneven and patchy as it fades.
- Don’t take a hot shower. A hot shower may be relaxing, but steam opens your pores and lets your spray tan settle unevenly on your skin. This will keep you around a week with brown dots throughout your body.
- Don’t wax or shave. Hair removal techniques can appear to be a harmless part of your treatment routine, at least 24 hours before you get a spray tan and preferably one or two days later.
- Don’t get a facial. Before a spray tan, facials should be prevented because the tanner will go into open pores in the skin and make dark areas on the skin. To ensure even spray, it is recommended that you wait until any irritations are gone.
- Don’t wear tight clothes. DHA and bronze are expected to dry up to 15 minutes, so you risk not only rubbing your tan, but also stain your clothes if they are too tight.
- Don’t get a laser treatment. Following a skin care treatment using lasers, a spray tan should never be done. This is because the tan will go off with the skin ‘s top few layers.
- Don’t tan in a tanning booth or on the outside. If you spend too long outside in the sun, a real tan might make your spray tan look unnatural.
- Don’t apply acne medication. Most acne medications, including the facial washes containing salicylic acid and/or benzoyl peroxide, dry the skin, which affect the tan ‘s performance. In some areas, the tan can become too obscure and in others peel off, resulting in uneven results.
- Don’t exfoliate your skin too much. During exfoliation, skin irritation, little scratch and excessive dryness may occur. In these places, the tanner is becoming darker, leading to uneven tanning.
- Don’t use aluminum deodorant. The aluminum makes your arm green with a spray tan that certainly stays green for a number of days — not cool.
- Don’t get a lash extension. Many customers may want to spray their lashes, but it must be remembered that this is likely to leave many unwanted lines around their eyes.
