About the Saranap Neighborhood in Lafayette, California

A suburban census-designated place (CDP) within central Contra Costa County, California, is Saranap (until 1913, Dewing Park). It is bordered by portions of Walnut Creek (including the gated senior residential neighborhood of Rossmoor) on the south and east and Lafayette on the north and west. The name of the city comes from an inter-urban commuter rail system at the beginning of the 20th-century. The local station, located near the intersection between Tice Valley Boulevard and Olympic Way, was named after Sara Napthaly, the mother of the railroad developer. This developer sponsored the railroad to increase the value of land growth, a process that culminated in a trolley car suburb-like development pattern, although the railroad was actually a traditional regional rail line. The ZIP code of Saranap is 945955. The main streets of Saranap are Olympic Boulevard, Newell Avenue, and Saranap Avenue.

  •  Pizza Oliva | 2400 Olympic Blvd # 2, Walnut Creek, CA 94595, United States

It’s different from Pizza Oliva. Their pizzas are delicious, reasonably priced, and come complete with every meat and vegetable variety. The crust, which is never like the cardboard most other restaurants serve, is more significant. It is crusty and doughy, and perfectly cooked. Pizza Oliva is a spot where people don’t mind trying to stay out of their way.

Morucci’s Si Mangia Bene is a popular neighborhood fixture dispensing piled-high sandwiches & deli staples in snug quarters. The majority of clients arrive with a number in mind at this famous Italian deli. Number 1 means, say, toasted ciabatta with savory beef, cheese, and pickled peppers. Number 6 1/2 means that you want a prosciutto sandwich layered over fresh tomato and fresh mozzarella. You’ll have to call ahead for a fast lunch, but you can still lose yourself in the Mediterranean mural on the back wall if you get stuck in line. The picnic tables in front get the most action on sunny days.

In the West, the awareness is missing, as the divine charge entrusted to Western cultures has been concentrated outward, inclined to the mastery of physical matter, rather than to the inner unfolding of consciousness.
